On May 20th, OCCE’s Michelle Keenan joined six other Harvard Longwood Community members to pick up litter in the Mission Hill neighborhood (some volunteers pictured) .These ‘waste warriors’ battled the heat and the wind-strewn food packaging, paper, cans, plastic bottles, and many cigarette butts to collect 24 pounds of garbage and recycling in just one hour. This simple but impactful effort is one of the many ways to realize the service mission of HMS. (Visit the [EcoOpportunity](https://hsph.harvard.edu/office/operations/ecoopportunity/) website to learn more about how to get involved with sustainability efforts on the Longwood campus.)
