SUMMARY:A Community Dialogue: Reckoning with the History of Slavery in Medicine & Higher Education
DESCRIPTION:
Building on our ongoing work to examine the history of slavery and its legacies at Harvard Medical School, this dialogue invites our community to reflect more broadly on how institutions of medicine and higher education across the country face these histories. Together, we will reflect on what it means to confront this past, how it continues to shape the present, and what a meaningful institutional reckoning with this history might involve.

*Note that a valid Harvard University ID will be required to attend this event.

Dialogue facilitated by:
Scott Podolsky, MD
Director of the Center for the History of Medicine, Countway Library

Joan Reede, MD, MS, MPH, MBA
Dean for Culture and Community Engagement

This event is co-sponsored by the Harvard Medical School Office for Culture and Community Engagement and Harvard Countway Library Center for the History of Medicine.
<drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="d0175f3a-3d33-45cf-bfa4-f74bb6efa2e9" data-view-mode="hwp_large"> </drupal-media>
