Established in 2022, “Reflections on Medicine, History, and Society” is a series co-sponsored by the Center for the History of Medicine at Countway Library, Department of Global Health & Social Medicine, and the HMS Center for Bioethics. As part of the series, we invite authors to present their research and scholarship on topics that relate to medicine, history, and society.

Some examples of Reflections events include:

- A series of three symposia, organized in partnership with the *New England Journal of Medicine –* “Recognizing Historical Injustices in Medicine and the *Journal.”* Each symposium featured authors of the associated *Journal* articles*.*
    - Symposium #1: Racism, Medicine, and the *Journal* since 1812.
    - Symposium #2: Eugenics, Nazism, and the *Journal.*
    - Symposium #3: Sex, Gender, and Sexuality in the *Journal.*
- A film screening and panel discussion, organized in partnership with WGBH’s NOVA. Excerpts from the two films were screened: *Critical Condition: Health in Black America* and *When Machines Prescribe*.
