## About

Since 1993, Project Success has been a summer research program for current high school juniors and seniors who reside in Boston or Cambridge, MA. Project Success students undertake paid internships in Harvard Medical School (HMS) and HMS-affiliated science laboratories under the mentorship of science professionals. The program also provides exciting STEM group learning experiences and educational and career guidance.

## Application Process and Deadline

**Summer 2026 Program Dates: June 29, 2026 – August 14, 2026**

**The final application deadline for 2026 Project Success is Wednesday, February 4, 2026.**

**To be eligible to apply to Project Success, students must:**

- Reside in Boston or Cambridge, Massachusetts
- Currently be in grade 11 or 12, with a minimum 2.70 Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Be at least 16 years of age by June 29, 2026
- Have completed algebra, biology, and chemistry by program start.
- Be able to commit to participation for the entire summer program (full time, 7 hours per day)
- Ensure your parent/guardian understands the requirements of the program and has given their consent for you to participate if selected
- If accepted, students must provide documentation that they are allowed to work

*Note*: To be considered, a completed application for Project Success requires: a) A fully completed online application b) A recommendation from a science teacher submitted on the link provided on the checklist above; and c) Your school transcript from 9th grade sent electronically to us by a school guidance counselor. **All of this information** ***must*** **be received by the deadline of February 4, 2026.**

## Components of the Project Success Program

**Summer Internships**: Paid in-person research mentoring and seminars.  
  
**Educational Opportunities**: Placement and mentoring in a Harvard Medical School (HMS) or HMS-affiliated institution research lab; seminars with researchers and physicians; site visits to hospitals and biotechnology organizations; and development of writing and speaking skills.  
  
**Student Support**: Assigned mentors and research advisors; career guidance; networking with students in other summer programs.
