**In what ways do you feel you contribute to the Harvard community?**
As a medical student with a disability (type 1 narcolepsy with cataplexy), I am passionate about making medical education more accessible to all. During my first year of medical school, I helped build HMS's first disability affinity group: the HMS Student Alliance for Chronic Illness, Health Conditions, and Disabilities (HACHD). Since HACHD's inception, I have worked closely with students and faculty to build a supportive disability community and reshape the conversation around disability in medicine. What started as a small group determined to build connections and raise awareness has blossomed into a community of advocates committed to transforming medical education for the better. By sharing our experiences openly and bringing disability to the forefront of conversations, we've seen how many individuals within the medical community are ready and willing to engage in this work. With HMS's support, we are building a more compassionate, equitable field where disability is celebrated as a form of diversity and affinity groups exist at every level of training.

**What are you most proud of about your work at HMS/HSDM?**
I am particularly proud of the mentorship program we developed through HACHD, which connects undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities to Harvard-affiliated health professionals with similar lived experiences. After years of struggling to find mentors who understood the unique challenges of navigating medical training with a chronic illness, it's been incredibly fulfilling to develop a platform that fills this gap and provides students with the support they need to thrive.
