About the speaker:
Woodrow (Woody) Myers is a physician and a nationally recognized leader in public health, the development of medical quality initiatives and advanced healthcare management programs. As Managing Director of Myers Ventures LLC, he has coupled his passion for the highest standards of patient care and management, with leadership roles in several our nation’s largest and most innovative healthcare enterprises. Today he serves as an Advisor to LightSpeed Venture Partners, and to Freespira Inc., and on the Board of Directors of Personalis, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSNL). He is a member of the Public Health Policy Committee of eHealth Inc. (NASDAQ: EHTH).
Dr. Myers maintains an unencumbered license to practice medicine in Indiana and California. An Indianapolis, Indiana native, Myers is also a business owner, husband, father, and grandfather. He completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University (BS with Honors in Biological Sciences) and his medical degree (MD) from Harvard University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford University. He completed two fellowships, the Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship (UCSF/Stanford) and Critical Care Medicine (Stanford). Early in his medical career he worked as an emergency room physician and as a critical care intensivist and in both roles as a clinical teacher.
Woody lives in Indianapolis Indiana with his wife Stacy. Together, they have five children and four grandchildren.

Alvin F. Poussaint was an advocate for equitable access and opportunity at Harvard Medical School (HMS). As faculty associate dean for student affairs and founding director of the HMS Office of Recruitment & Multicultural Affairs (now part of the
Office of Student Affairs), Poussaint was instrumental in building community at HMS and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM).
The Alvin F. Poussaint, MD Visiting Lecture Fund was established in 2005 to provide an annual lecture at HMS and a forum for connecting alumni leaders in medicine and science with HMS and HSDM students, residents, fellows and faculty of HMS and HMS-affiliated institutions. It is incumbent upon us to carry his legacy forward through our unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and health and well-being for all.
