Harvard Longwood Community Joins the Mother’s Day Walk for Peace

On Sunday, May 11, OCCE led a unified team of the Harvard Medical School, T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and School of Dental Medicine in the 29th Annual Mother's Day Walk for Peace in Dorchester. The event, organized by the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, began at Town Field Park. Fifteen Harvard community members and their families joined the 3.2-mile walk, raising $1,410 and exceeding the team’s $1,000 fundraising goal.

This year’s theme, “Cultivating Cycles of Peace,” focused on breaking cycles of violence by supporting survivors and investing in future generations. The walk had thousands of participants honored lives lost and raised vital funds for the Institute, which serves as a “center of healing, teaching, and learning for families and communities impacted by murder, trauma, grief, and loss,” offering programs that address the long-term effects of violence.
