Joan Reede Delivers Keynote Speech at CUNY School of Medicine
On August 1, the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Medicine held a B.S. Commencement and White Coat Ceremony for 59 medical students who comprise the school’s M.D. Class of 2029. This celebration is the first since the CUNY School of Medicine became the University’s 26th constituent school. CUNY School of Medicine has an accelerated 3-year BS in Biomedical Education and a 4-year MD granting program yielding a 7-year BS/MD program.
Joan Reede, HMS Professor of Medicine and Dean of the Office for Culture and Community Engagement (OCCE), served as the keynote speaker for this event. She also received the Honorary Degree Doctor of Humane Letter, honoris causa, for her impact on medical education, public health, and healthcare leadership.
