Harvard Longwood Community Walks for Peace on Mother’s Day

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, members of the Harvard Longwood community joined thousands of others at the 30th annual Louis D. Brown Peace Institute Mother’s Day Walk for Peace at Town Field Park in Dorchester.

Representing Harvard Medical School, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, the Harvard Longwood Community Team walked the 3.2-mile route to raise awareness of violence as a critical public health issue and to support the Peace Institute’s work with survivors and communities impacted by murder, trauma, grief, and loss.

Founded by a mother who lost her son to violence, the Peace Institute is dedicated to empowering survivors and cultivating cycles of peace. The Harvard Longwood Community Team was proud to stand in solidarity with this mission and to contribute to efforts to end violence in our communities.
