What inspires or motivates you in your role at HMS/HSDM?
It's not uncommon to feel disconnected from the research, science and medicine when you work on he administrative side of HMS. However, inspiratior s easily found in listening to the findings, reading the stories, seeing the history, and hearing the many voices that contribute to this institution.

Are there activities outside of your job at Harvard that you feel enrich or inform who you are as an individual at Harvard?
Being a mother has taught me to be more patient and resilient; my instincts are sharper; my limitations are stretched; my tolerance is raised. Challenges are endless. Defining what's most important in the moment is a skill that's developed. Many thanks to my daughters, Laura and Grace, who enrich my life in countless ways - enabling me to continue to grow and learn both at work, home and play.

What is the significance of the object you brought with you to the photo shoot?
This necklace was given to me by an HMS colleague, who became a mentor and friend over the last two years. She is strong, caring, generous and smart. I admire how she balances the non-stop demands of work, family, and life with a smile, positive attitude and determination. This friend, along with other women in my life, come to mind when I wear the necklace - encouraging me to find strength, courage and humor in each day.
