What inspires or motivates you in your role at HMS/HSDM?
My career at HMS has given me the opportunity to work with extraordinary faculty and staff committed to providing the highest quality education for the best and the brightest young people who choose to pursue careers in medicine. During my tenure I have witnessed, and in some cases participated in, the development of numerous students, faculty and staff into leaders in medicine, biomedical science and medical education. It has been a privilege to be able to contribute to the continued excellence of Harvard medicine through my various roles in the Program in Medical Education.

What are you most proud of about your work at HMS/HSDM?
I have had the privilege of being involved in a number of successful new initiatives during my time at HMS, including the New Pathway curriculum project, the Academic Societies for medical students, the Shapiro Institute for Education and Research at HMS and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the HMS Academy. I am currently involved in two exciting and important initiatives to benefit Harvard medical students - the redesign of the 4-year MD curriculum, and the renovation and restoration of the medical education building, TEC. I am very proud to have been part of an incredible team of staff across HMS - from Campus Planning and Facilities, the Program in Medical Education, IT and Media Services, the Countway Center for the History of Medicine, and Communications and External Relations, as well as architects from Winter Street, HMS faculty and students, who contributed to the development of a state-of-the art Clinical Skills Center in TEC which opened in Fall 2013, to enhance the teaching and assessment of our medical students' clinical skills as they develop into tomorrow's physicians.
