What inspires or motivates you in your role at HMS/HSDM?
I believe it is my ability to interact with customers and my staff, as well as being challenged on the job that motivates me to work my best.
In what ways do you feel you contribute to the Harvard community? What is the significance of the object you are holding in the photograph?
I'm always looking tor ways to better myself by taking work-related courses and learning the latest rends in the cleaning business. I've taken several courses through The Center for Workplace Development, these are some of them: "Difficult Conversations"
"Communicating at Work" and "Microsoft Access." Taking courses and applying what l've learned to my work has helped me enjoy my job more and do it better. I've learned how to take risks, which requires me to overstep my comfort zone every single day (I'm also glad and fortunate that my boss allows me to make decisions). l've learned how to accept failure. Now, I understand that failure isn't necessarily a sign of weakness, it means you tried and it gives you that much more strength for the next round and will help you become stronger. I've learned not to be afraid of ideas. You're a member of the team, so your ideas count and should be heard, they might even lead to something totally different but super cool.
