What inspires or motivates you in your role at HMS/HSDM?
The biggest motivator for me is to ensure the people I work with, and support are successful every day. This means I'm doing my job.

What are you most proud of about your work at HMS/HSDM?
I love connecting people from campus and even off campus. Upon re-opening Countway after COVID, we needed students to help with the library. I was able to connect the Torch Scholarship program at Northeastern University with the Director of Countway and the Outreach Department. In doing so, we were able to hire over a dozen Torch students to work in the library. This was a win-win for everyone. We were able to get the help we needed, and the students were able to gain new skills, earn some money and add working for Countway on their resume!

What unique skills and/or talents do you bring to your job?
I have a couple of talents... I truly love organizing closets; there's a sense of satisfaction after the project is complete!
Some people may know this, but I have been an Interpreter for the Deaf for the majority of my life. I'm a CODA, a Child of a Deaf Adult.

Are there activities outside of your job at Harvard that you feel enrich or inform who you are as an individual at Harvard?
I have a passion for learning and creating and I hope to continue to develop some of these "out of the box" skills and enjoy getting to use these new skill sets in my day-to-day work.

What is the significance of the object you brought with you to the photo shoot?
While I have various tasks within my job at HMS, I am often told that I wear many hats. The funny thing is, wearing hats in my day-to-day life is a signature style for me. I have a collection of hats from large sun hats, some so big that they don't fit in my car, to winter wool hats, and everything in-between. So today, I wore my black wool barrette. This hat is in my winter rotation and if I'm being totally honestly, I don't feel fully dressed without a hat on! I'm so glad the staff and the patrons of Countway can appreciate my sense of style!
