What inspires or motivates you in your role at HMS/HSDM?
It inspires and motivates me to know that each and every day I work side by side with a great group of people who are respectful and hard working.
In what ways do you feel you contribute to the Harvard community?
There are many different faculty members that park in the HMS garage. If I can assist them in anything from parking their cars to fixing a flat tire, I feel that l've made a positive contribution to their day.
What are you most proud of about your work at HMS/HSDM?
I'm proud that I've been at my job for many years and have established a rapport with veteran parkers. They know that they can count on me and my team for anything they may need.
What unique skills and/or talents do you bring to your job?
I can identify each monthly and day Parker to their car. Believe me, this comes in handy when after a long shift at work or school, they come to me with a lost look on their face. They don't remember what spot, what floor, or even sometimes which car they drove in!
Are there activities outside of your job at Harvard that you feel enrich or inform who you are as an individual at Harvard?
I share my life at home with my amazing and beautiful wife who works next door at Brigham and Women's Hospital. I also enjoy my time outside of work detailing my car, watching the NFL, and spending time with my nephews and family.
What is the significance of the object you brought with you to the photo shoot?
I'm embarrassed to say that I wasn't aware of needing to bring an object to the photo shoot - so the photographer decided to use my walkie-talkie, which is part of my uniform, as my "object". The significance of this is acknowledging that no matter where you work or what you do, you are part of a team and a community. In an office or clinic, you might use phones or email to reach out to your peers, but downstairs in the parking garage, we use walkie-talkies.
