Community Conversations

Community Conversations provide safe environments where all members of the HMS community can engage in self-reflection and dialogue, ask questions, learn, and contribute. Examples include:

Dialogues

Since February 2018, OCCE has hosted the Dialogue Series, an ongoing series designed to engage the HMS community in meaningful conversations on a wide range of topics. Past dialogues have explored themes such as psychological safety, microaggressions, being other, dissent in organizations, navigating challenging times as medical professionals, imposter syndrome, first-generation experiences, and pluralism.

Discovery, Service, and Justice Initiative

The Discovery, Service, and Justice Initiative was established to advance the mission of Harvard Medical School by addressing both emerging and persistent health challenges. Grounded in the values of pluralism, equity, and inclusion, the initiative embraces the richness of diverse perspectives and experiences as essential to improving health outcomes. Through a focus on the social determinants of health, inclusive leadership in academic medicine, and transformative health policy, the initiative seeks to promote equity, foster belonging, and serve all populations with integrity and purpose.

Leadership Forums

OCCE designed opportunities for fellows, students, faculty, and staff to interact with nationally recognized physician leaders from the public, private and academic sectors. These forums are part of the Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Health Policy Leadership curriculum but are open to all.
